What did it mean to OS Doors to win Sustainable Supplier of the Year?
Winning the title of “Sustainable Supplier of the Year” was a proud moment for us at OS Doors.
It validated the efforts that we’ve put into making sustainability a core part of how we operate and it was not just a box to tick. Being based in the beautiful countryside of Benburb, Co. Tyrone, it was a very conscious decision to take steps toward protecting the environment around us.
Receiving this award and seeing the positive impact it’s having on our surroundings, has encouraged us to keep pushing for smarter and greener solutions in other areas of our business.
Why is it important to be a sustainable supplier in 2025?
For OS Doors being a sustainable supplier in 2025 isn’t just a competitive advantage it’s a responsibility, we all need to do our bit for the planet.
Seeing that our customers, partners and communities are more aware than ever of the impact that supply chains have on the environment. By leading with sustainability shows that we are thinking long term and it’s not just about profits, it’s about doing our part as best as we can, to hopefully encourage and inspire others.
Our commitment to sustainability has not stopped after receiving our title of the “sustainable supplier of the year”.
We’re continuously exploring new ways to improve and invest in greener practices across the business. This includes the installation of electric charging stations, allowing us to charge our new electric vans as well as employees' electric vehicles.
We are also in the process of replacing our remaining forklifts with fully electric models. We’re encouraging our employees to adopt more sustainable commuting options through the introduction of a Cycle to Work scheme.
Would you encourage others to enter the awards?
Definitely. Entering the awards is a great opportunity to reflect on your sustainability journey and getting recognition for the progress you’ve made.
It is also a chance to benchmark yourself within the industry and get inspired by what others are doing.
It shines a light on the positive changes businesses are making and that recognition helps build momentum not just within your own team, but across the whole industry.
The more you see and experience, the more motivated you are to drive further change.
