InterTradeIreland drives cross-border trading with Trade Connects 2026

Trade Connects 2026 events in Dublin and Belfast will help SMEs navigate the evolving landscape as cross-border trading reaches a record €17.24 bn

InterTradeIreland has announced two free events as part of Trade Connects 2026, an annual programme that explores opportunities available to SMEs looking to grow through cross-border trade.

This year, businesses will gather October 8 at the Alex Hotel in Dublin, and October 21 at the ICC Belfast for practical insights, expert advice, and networking opportunities.

The sessions are available to companies considering the cross-border market as well as those already trading and looking to expand.

 Margaret Hearty, Chief Executive, InterTradeIreland said, ‘For many SMEs, taking the next step into cross-border trade can raise practical questions, from understanding the market and navigating regulations to finding the right partners and supports. Trade Connects 2026 is designed to help businesses overcome those barriers through practical advice, expert insights and opportunities to connect with people who can help them move forward, opening doors to the vast opportunities available.’

Hosted by entrepreneur and broadcaster Áine Kerr, each event will feature expert panels alongside specialist masterclasses on wider trends shaping the future of business including AI. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage directly with exhibitors and experts to discover the supports, resources and funding available.

Prior to the events, an online networking platform will give attendees the opportunity to connect with fellow participants and build personalised agendas based on the themes of each event.

Suzanne Hill, Global Business Consultant and Founder of AI for SMEs, who will be delivering a Masterclass in AI for SMEs, said, ‘Each of the Trade Connects events is a fantastic resource for SMEs to avail of solutions-focused advice from experts.
