The Aylward family from New Ross, Co. Wexford were the first family to be featured in the latest series which aired on RTE One, April 3.

The first episode featured the most challenging build to date for the DIY SOS team in Shanbough who helped the Aylward family realise their dream of bringing their father, who had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Motor Neurone Disease home.

Together they built him a house that will provide security and comfort for him and his family throughout his remaining days and into the future for his young family.

As an official kitchen appliance and technology supplier for the show, Currys were able to provide a Belling Kensington Electric Induction Range Cooker – Red and Chrome for Lynn Aylward who adores the colour red and is a full time carer to one of her sons who is on the Autism spectrum

Pauline Browne Director of Marketing & E- Commerce at Currys Ireland said, ‘At Currys, one of our key values is to help everyone enjoy amazing technology, so it’s a privilege to be able to support families in need with our products. Our entire team have been incredibly moved by the families’ stories, and a number of our colleagues even took on volunteer roles for the Santry build, which was an incredibly fulfilling experience for all involved. We can also officially confirm that Currys will continue our support of the show for series three.’
