CONTEMPORARY DESIGN PROJECT UP TO £25,000/€30,000

WINNER - LEE DILLON
DILLONS KITCHENS & INTERIORS

This award honours a kitchen designer that works within an Irish kitchen studio, who has created a contemporary/modern kitchen design in the past two years that meets with the client’s wish-list and comes in under a budget of £25,000/€30,000 including appliances. The kitchen will fulfill the client’s requirements and lifestyle in terms of practicality and design. The designer will be able to demonstrate how and why they chose the materials and appliances and will outline any innovative solutions or modifications they may have used to create their final design. The designer will also be able to explain how they overcame any problems and show a breakdown of how they managed their budget.

JUDGES COMMENT
This kitchen has the composition of a great Master. It is beautifully balanced, its easy on the eye and it settles politely into the space rather than dominating it. The mute shades of greys and pale greens are used to great effect to reduce the scale and to tie through with the interior colours of the house. The kitchen is located in an uninspiring corner with two doors entering the space. The designer has carefully resolved the flow issues to create a practical layout with great capacity. It feels part of a room, an interesting space not just a kitchen. The kitchen looks cool but glamorous in the evening when the subtly of the concealed lighting relaxes the mood.
