CLASSIC DESIGN PROJECT UP TO £25,000/€30,000

WINNER - JESSICA COULTER
TERRY DESIGN

This award honours a kitchen designer that works within an Irish kitchen studio, who has created a classic/traditional kitchen design in the past two years that meets with the client’s wish-list and comes in under a budget of £25,000/€30,000 including appliances. The kitchen will fulfill the client’s requirements and lifestyle in terms of practicality and design. The designer will be able to demonstrate how and why they chose the materials and appliances and will outline any innovative solutions or modifications they may have used to create their final design. The designer will also be able to explain how they overcame any problems and show a breakdown of how they managed their budget.

JUDGES COMMENT
The clean lines of this classically inspired kitchen caught the judges eye with its elegant proportions and use of subtle materials. The working triangle is much smaller than many kitchens seen in this simple yet practical layout. There is great enjoyment in the restrained use of simple detail.

The use of Pitty Oak is unusual but it is a beautiful material which is gently highlighted with the use of stainless steel and muted grey tones. Drawers within drawers are used to great effect to produce a practical but restrained classic.
